About Inner Wheel

Inner Wheel is an international organisation for women established in the United Kingdom in 1924 by the wives of Rotarians. There are now 3,895 clubs in 103 countries with over 103,000 members.

In South Australia, there are five active Inner Wheel Clubs which form District A70. We are one of 12 Districts making up Inner Wheel Australia with 2,400 plus members in 113 clubs.

Members are united by friendship and a common aim to give service to the community. Clubs meet monthly with individual programs, which include speakers on varied topics and many fun activities.

Who do we support?

Members offer help wherever and whenever it is needed, for each other and at local, national and international levels.

In SA, we currently support many local community charities including schools, hospitals, children, youth and a range of needy organisations. Our Patron is Her Excellency, the Hon Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia.

Since 2000, our main national fundraiser has been for Cord Blood Research which provides a lifeline for those with life- threatening diseases. By October 2022, Inner Wheel Australia has raised $3,513,462 million for Cord Blood Research, which is distributed through annual grant funds. At October 2022, 59 research grants had been given out.
